Detect motile Salmonella species from food and environmental samples with Thermo Scientific? Oxoid? Modified Semi-Solid Rappaport-Vassiliadis Medium Base (Dehydrated). Motility enrichment on MSRV Medium has been designed as a simple, sensitive method for the isolation of salmonellae. The efficacy of the medium is based upon the ability of salmonellae to migrate through the selective medium ahead of competing Gram-negative, motile organisms and, therefore, produce opaque halos of growth.

Utilize motility enrichment on Modified Semi-solid Rappaport Vassiliadis Agar for the isolation of Salmonella species from food and environmental samples associated with the primary stage of animal production (such as dust).

• A simple and sensitive method for the isolation of salmonellae from food and environmental samples.
• Gram-positive flora is inhibited by novobiocin, low pH, high magnesium chloride concentration, and malachite green.
• Isolation is based on the ability of salmonellae to migrate through the selective medium ahead of competing Gram-negative, motile organisms, thus producing opaque halos of growth.
